New Mothers Prayer for December 6th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Paul wrote that what is heavenly shapes the people who belong to heaven. I hold onto that tonight. This week feels so earthy. So tired. So plain. But the tired version of me is not the final version. You are still forming me. The patience that is slowly growing in me is part of that new shape. The kindness that surprises me on hard days is part of that new shape. Help me live today as someone who is being made for Your kingdom. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.

Verses to pray

Pray these slowly, one line at a time. Scripture quoted from a public-domain translation.

  1. As is the one made of dust, such are those who are also made of dust; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
    1 Corinthians 15:48
  2. But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.
    2 Corinthians 3:18
