New Mothers Prayer for November 29th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You told Your people not to spread stories that hurt. I know that kind of gossip is not just words out loud. It lives in my head. I replay the hard thing my in-laws said. I notice the small story about another mom at playgroup. I judge the friend who has not called. Quiet that voice in my mind. I do not need to keep telling that story, not even to myself. The kinder thought is also true. Help me hold on to that one instead. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
