New Mothers Prayer for November 4th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, the verse I keep coming back to is from 2 Corinthians 12 — Your strength is made perfect in weakness. That is not just a nice line. It is Your promise. Your strength shows up most where I am weakest, not where I am pretending to have it all together.

The weakness this morning is plain. The tiredness in my legs. The thin patience by mid-morning. The small reserves of kindness for the second tantrum. Let Your strength fit into those exact gaps.

I do not need to fix myself first before I can serve. That is not how You work. The weakness is the place. The weakness is the doorway. Move in.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.

Verses to pray

Pray these slowly, one line at a time. Scripture quoted from a public-domain translation.

  1. He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.
    2 Corinthians 12:9
