New Mothers Prayer for November 2nd

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You say in Malachi, I am the Lord, I change not. That line is medicine this morning. Everything else has changed. My body has changed. My schedule has changed. My friendships have shifted in ways I did not see coming. Even the way I pray has changed. Shorter now. More often interrupted. But You have not changed. You are the same God I am talking to right now. Let that truth steady me before I get out of this rocking chair. You change not. The day will move under me. The season will move under me. But You are the one thing that stays. Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
