New Mothers Prayer for October 28th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord Jesus, in John 15, You say, "I have chosen You out of the world." I did not win a contest. Your love came to me before I even noticed. Today I see other lives — women without children, mothers with help, influencers with a clean kitchen — and I do not have to win those lives. You already chose me. Send me into this day from that place, not from trying to earn it. Your choosing was the start of the love, not the result. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.

Verses to pray

Pray these slowly, one line at a time. Scripture quoted from a public-domain translation.

  1. You didn’t choose me, but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
    John 15:16
  2. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
    John 15:19
