New Mothers Prayer for October 24th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Psalm 104 says the trees You made are full of sap. The sap hides under the bark where no one can see it. I cannot tell if life is rising in me today. I have been looking at the leaves and judging the whole tree. You planted me. You gave me a steady flow of life from underneath. This season, the bark looks dull. The leaves are not bright. But the sap is still moving. Help me trust the life I cannot see. I am tired down to my bones, and I am also glad You hold me. Keep the quiet pulse going in me, even when I cannot feel it. Amen.
