New Mothers Prayer for October 20th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You told us to grow up into Christ in all things. I want that. But I want it fast. I want more patience by tomorrow. I want to feel closer to You by next week. I want to be a better mom, a better me, by some date I have picked in my head. But growth does not work that way. A tree does not stand in front of a mirror. It just grows. Slow. Quiet. Hidden. Let me stop measuring myself. Let me trust that You are working in me, even when I cannot see it. Even in the late nights. Even in the mess. Even in the joy and the tears at the same time. One day at a time, I am growing toward You. And that is enough. Amen.
