New Mothers Prayer for October 17th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, David once believed a lie in his heart that he would not survive what was coming. I have my own lie I keep hearing, that this season will break me, that the tiredness will win, that I will never feel like myself again. That sentence is not from You. You called me into this season, and You will see me through it. You did not bring me this far to leave me here. Replace the lie with Your promise that You are with me and that Your strength holds me up when I have nothing left. Let me feel Your faithfulness in the small, hard moments. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
