New Mothers Prayer for October 1st
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, You invite me to bring You gifts of thanks, both new and old. Let me bring both today. The old gifts I am tempted to take for granted — my husband, my health, the friends I had before this baby came. The new gifts that have grown in this season — the small lull when the baby finally sleeps, the unexpected kindness from a neighbor, the hymn that has come back to me with new meaning. Both are Yours. Old and new, laid before You. Receive them. Amen.
