I have been trying to fake a smile this week — for photos, for family, for friends watching from far away. Help me stop pretending and ask for the gladness that comes from You. The gladness that does not wait for everything to go right first. The gladness that is glad about You. The baby may cry through lunch. The dishes may pile up. The phone may keep ringing. The gladness You give holds under all of it. Amen.
