New Mothers Prayer for September 21st
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You spoke through Jeremiah and said, I will rejoice over them to do them good. You rejoice. Over me. To do me good. I have been picturing You as someone just waiting for me to do better. But You are not waiting. You are taking pleasure in me. That truth is too big for this tired morning, and I want to let it in anyway. Let the surprise of being loved like that change one small thing about how I move through this next hour. Not in a soft way. In a stronger way. I have been delighted in. Even here in this chair. That changes the day. Amen.

- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
