New Mothers Prayer for September 11th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says to be set apart. That word can sound hard, but I need a kinder reading of it this morning. To be set apart is not to be far away. It is to be kept for good use, like a clean spoon set aside for the baby. Let me be set aside for You today in one small way. The first thought when I wake. The first word over the crib. The first quiet minute before the noise starts. Separate me gently from the scrolling that is always reaching for me. Not a fence — just a small, private space kept for You alone. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
