New Mothers Prayer for August 30th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, the nap has not started, and the day is still humming with everything I cannot control. Psalm 27 says to wait on the Lord. I always thought waiting was easy, but I am learning it is one of the hardest things. Marching feels productive. Waiting feels like wasting. Today, with the baby's nap unpredictable and the doctor's call still not returned, You are asking me to wait. Let me wait without spiraling. Let me wait without filling the silence with my own panicked planning. Waiting is a kind of work. Quiet my heart while I do it. The answer is not late just because it has not arrived. You are not behind. I am only impatient, and You are patient enough for both of us. Amen.
