New Mothers Prayer for August 26th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, the diaper bag is half-packed by the door, and Psalm 111 is still open in my head. You made Your promise, and You are not taking it back. You are not keeping score to see if I have earned it. You made it forever. That is a bigger word than I can hold, but it holds me anyway. Let me move through this morning inside Your promise, not inside my own effort. The bottles I wash, I wash inside Your promise. The prayers I half-pray, I half-pray inside Your promise. Nothing today is happening outside that older word. Amen.
