New Mothers Prayer for August 22nd
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, Your Word says, 'I am sick with love.' That is how I feel. I miss You. Not the idea of You. You.
I have kept this longing quiet. It does not fit on a busy day with a baby in my arms. But it is true.
I miss the way I used to walk and talk with You. I miss when Bible words came to mind on their own. I miss when singing in church rose from deep inside me.
Let me say I am missing You without pretending I am fine. This missing is part of love.
Come near again, Lord. In Your time. In Your way.
I will keep watching the door.
Amen.
