New Mothers Prayer for August 14th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, this milk-stained shirt is not impressive, and neither am I.
Psalm 92 says You have made me glad by what You have done. So this morning, I am asking for just a small handful of gladness, not a fountain. Show me one thing in Your work that I can be glad about right now.
The cross is the obvious one, and it is enough. My sins are forgiven. The judgment is settled. A lighter heart is the right heart for a tired mother.
Let me hum through the dish water with that truth tucked under the day. Glad, not in a flashy way. Just steadily glad, because the gospel is still true.
Amen.
