New Mothers Prayer for August 12th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, the linoleum is sticky in two places I keep meaning to wipe. You are Lord over this kitchen floor. You are Lord over the unsigned form on the counter, the unanswered text from my sister, and the appointment I do not know how to make. Each of those is within Your reach. Your rule is steady even when I am not. Your rule is real whether I rejoice or only get through the morning. The Lord reigns. My small earth can stop bracing for the next thing. Amen.
