New Mothers Prayer for July 28th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Asaph once said, 'So foolish was I, and ignorant.' I feel that today. I have been short-tempered. I have judged the other moms in my head. I have prayed mostly for the baby to sleep. None of that makes me unsavable. It makes me ordinary, like David, like Asaph, like so many who came before me. Show me my foolishness without crushing me. Take it, and leave me a little wiser by lunchtime. Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
