New Mothers Prayer for July 27th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, I have been letting Your promises sit unread, like a wet blanket I meant to hang up but never did. This morning, let me take just one promise and hold it like a warm cup. Not a study. Not an essay. Just one sentence to carry through the day. I will choose the one about Your strength being made perfect in my weakness. Make it small enough to fit between feedings. Make it strong enough to hold up when the day starts shaking. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.

Verses to pray

Pray these slowly, one line at a time. Scripture quoted from a public-domain translation.

  1. He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.
    2 Corinthians 12:9
  2. Psalm 119:11
