New Mothers Prayer for July 26th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word tells me to add to my faith, one good thing at a time. I do not have full strength today. Just a thin stretch to get through this next hour. So let me add one small thing. Patience when the baby fights the nap. A kind word back to my husband. A real thank-You to the one who brings the package to the door. You are the one who grows good things in me. Help me take one small step of obedience now, and then sit down and rest before You ask for the next. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.

  1. Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge;
    2 Peter 1:5
  2. Indeed, who despises the day of small things? For these seven shall rejoice, and shall see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. These are Yahweh’s eyes, which run back and forth through the whole earth.”
