New Mothers Prayer for July 24th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, my baby has been crying for so long, and I have tried everything I know. My arms are tired. My heart is tired. Standing still feels wrong, like I should fix this right now. But You are not only with me when I am doing something. You are here in the stillness, too. Help me sit down on the floor with my child. Help me stop trying to fix the whole afternoon in the next two minutes. You are just as present in this long cry as in a quiet moment. Teach me that sometimes the most faithful thing is to stay close and not run. Amen.
