New Mothers Prayer for June 25th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You once told Your people to climb the high mountain and see beyond the fog. I cannot climb a mountain today. My high place is the kitchen step stool.

But I can still rise in my mind. I can look past this tired day and see all You have done. You have been moving in my life. You have been moving in this year of being a mother.

From up here, the panic about the nap shrinks back to its real size. The bigger story is good. You are at work.

Let me rise with You, even for ten minutes. Then let me go back to the kitchen with the bigger view in my heart.

Amen.
