New Mothers Prayer for June 24th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, a woman once shouted a blessing over Mary. Jesus said the real blessing belongs to those who hear Your word and keep it. He was gentle, but He was clear.

Even Mary's blessing came from hearing You and obeying. Not from her body. Not from her place. From her faithful yes.

I do not need to envy her. The same blessing is offered to me. Hear Your word. Keep it. Trust You with the rest.

When I am tempted to define myself by how well I mother, bring me back to this. The blessing is in hearing You and doing what You say. Mothering flows from that. It is not the whole of who I am.

I hear You today. Help me keep what I hear.

Amen.
