New Mothers Prayer for June 23rd
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, in Hosea 7, You called Ephraim a cake not turned. Brown on one side. Raw on the other. Half-done.
I feel like that right now. The outside looks fine. The kitchen is mostly clean. The baby is fed. The pictures look good. But inside, I am still raw. The jealousy I have not faced. The talk I keep putting off. The way my prayer life has gone quiet.
Do not let me stay half-done. Turn me over. Let Your heat reach the parts I have been hiding. I do not like the heat. But I want to be whole, not split in two.
I am Yours. Finish what You started.
Amen.
