The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Jesus said, "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish." Never perish. Those are strong words.
My baby will face many things I cannot protect her from. I can patch skinned knees. I cannot fix the harder things.
But this is real. Eternal life is Your gift. Once You give it, it is sure.
I cannot give her this gift. I can pray for her. I can teach her about You. I can show her what it looks like to trust You.
The rest is between her and You. Carry her into Your kind of life when the time comes. Help me trust You with her more than I trust myself.
Hold us both. In Your hand, we will never perish.
Amen.
