New Mothers Prayer for June 12th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father,
In the book of Daniel, a king was weighed and found lacking. I do not need a sign on the wall to know the same is true of me this week.
I already know what I did. The sharp word at lunch. The half-attention to my partner. The hour I spent on my phone when I could have rested or prayed.
I am lacking. That is honest.
But the good news is not that I must weigh more next time. It is that Christ stands in my place. His goodness covers what I lack. His grace is the weight on my side when I have nothing to bring.
I do not have to be enough tonight. I just have to bring myself, as I am, to You.
Still, even in this tired place, there is a small joy I do not want to miss: this child in my arms, this quiet moment, this breath. Thank You for the good woven through the hard.
Receive me as I am.
Amen.
