New Mothers Prayer for June 9th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Psalm 126 says You have done great things for us, and we are glad. Glad. Not just thankful. Glad.
Gladness has felt out of reach this season. Quiet contentment, maybe. But gladness, the kind that lights up the face, has been rare.
Today I want to remember reasons for gladness. This baby exists and is mine. My partner is still here, still trying. I am in a body that is still working. I can come to You for free. The morning came.
These deserve gladness, not just acknowledgment.
Lift my face for a minute. Let me feel something like joy. Not manufactured. Real. Even briefly. The reasons are real. The gladness is right.
Receive my gladness.
Amen.
