New mothers
New Mothers Prayer for June 3rd
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word tells of potters and gardeners who worked for the king. Their work was hidden. No one saw it. But they were Yours.
That is me in this house. Feeding. Rocking. Changing. Washing. The work is hidden. My hands are tired. The hours are not glamorous.
But I am Yours. This kitchen is Your workshop. This living room is Your garden. Even the mess is part of Your kingdom.
Some days, I feel like nothing good is being built. Some days I feel like I am not enough. But then my baby looks at me, and I remember. You are here. You see me.
Let me stay in this hidden place and not feel beneath it. Let me do this work for You. Let me find joy in the small moments You give.
This is Your work. Hidden, ordinary, real.
Amen.
