New Mothers Prayer for May 31st
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I have a slow grief tonight that I cannot quite name. A friendship has gone quiet. I am letting go of who I used to be. This year has not felt the way I thought it would.
Let me cross my own brook tonight, weeping if I need to, not pretending. Help me keep going. Not because the grief is not real, but because I can carry it while I walk.
You walked through the Kidron valley on the way to Your own death. You know how to weep and move at the same time. Teach me.
I take the next small step with You.
Amen.
