New Mothers Prayer for May 20th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your kindness is worth marveling at. But I have stopped marveling. I have heard about Your love so many times that it has become ordinary to me. I do not see it anymore.
Today I want to marvel again. You know me by name. You hear my prayers. You knit my baby together in my body in secret. You knit my own life together in my mother's body in secret. Christ died for me by name.
This is wild kindness. I could not have imagined it. I cannot earn it. And it is mine.
Wake up the wonder in me. Even ten seconds of real marveling changes the whole day. Let me sit with Your kindness right now.
Amen.
