New Mothers Prayer for May 19th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You know how things get turned upside down. The people I counted on are sometimes gone. The people I never expected show up. The plans I made have folded into something new. Even the slow afternoons I dreaded have turned into the sweetest hours of my day.

You know how to use the upside-down. The first will be last. The least will be greatest.

Let me stop being surprised by the order. The plain day is often the holy one. The hidden moment is often the meaningful one. Help me trust the One who is arranging every chair.

Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
