New Mothers Prayer for May 18th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says that in Christ all of who You are lives in a body, and in Him I am already complete. Not in marriage. Not in motherhood. Not in what I achieve.
I have been looking for completeness in the wrong places. Like being the mom I dreamed of would finally be enough. Like if my marriage got past this hard season, then I would feel whole.
Those things are good. But they cannot make me whole.
Only You make me whole. In You, I am already complete. Not later. Today. Even in the half-rumpled state of this morning.
Help me stop chasing what was never meant to fill me. Let me live from the fullness I already have in You. The mothering, the marriage, the kitchen—all of it flows from that fullness, not the other way around.
Amen.
