New Mothers Prayer for May 14th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Romans 8 calls us joint heirs with Christ. Heirs together. Not waiting in line for what is left over.
I have been measuring my inheritance by what I see in this kitchen. Mac and cheese in the sink. Diapers in the bin. A car that needs gas. That is not the inheritance.
The inheritance is Christ and everything that is His. His Father is now my Father. I have His access. I have His future.
That is real, even when I cannot see it from this chair. The mac and cheese in the sink is what I see today. The inheritance is what I am held by.
Hold me by the bigger reality. Let me move through the smaller one with peace.
Amen.
