New Mothers Prayer for May 5th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You said in Your Word, "I will be their God, and they shall be My people." That promise is simple and sure.

I have not always felt like one of Your people in this season. Sometimes I drift through feedings and diaper changes like a stranger in my own life. Too tired to feel anything. Too foggy to find my way back to You.

But the promise is "they shall be My people." Not "they shall feel like My people." Your word holds even when my feelings drift.

I am Your people. Not because I have been faithful this week. Because You said so, and You do not take Your words back.

Let that truth plant my feet back in belonging. I am not a guest here. I am family. Welcome me as family today.

Amen.

  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
