New Mothers Prayer for May 3rd

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Jesus said in John 16, "In this world You will have trouble." He did not promise me an easy road. He promised to walk it with me.

I was honestly shocked that motherhood would be this hard. I thought if I prayed enough, the days would be smoother. They are not.

But He also said, "I have overcome the world." The hard part is real today. It is not the end of the story.

So let me face the next feeding, the next cry, the next long night the way Jesus told me to. Not pretending it is easier than He said it is. Not acting like it is worse than He warned. Held by the One who has already overcome.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
