New Mothers Prayer for May 2nd
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Jesus once prayed that You would not take us out of the world, but keep us safe inside it. He did not ask You to rescue us from life. He asked You to guard us right in the middle of it.
I have prayed for rescue this season. From the long, slow afternoons. From one more bath. From the days that all look the same.
But You are not pulling me out of any of it. You are holding me up in it. The dishes still need to be done. The diapers still need to be changed. You are not saving me from that work.
You are with me in it. That is how Jesus' prayer comes true in my life. Keep me. Not away from the work. Right in the middle of it. That is enough today.
Amen.
