New Mothers Prayer for April 30th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your people in the Bible saw great miracles and still murmured. I get it. I murmured this morning too.

Not out loud. Just in my head. A slow list of small complaints. That I got the night feedings again. That no one sees all I have done today. That my friend has not called.

Forgive me. I have not been calling it what it is. It is a sin. It eats up the thanks that should be filling this kitchen.

Replace each murmur with a thanks. The night feedings are with a baby I prayed for. You see the work no one notices. The friend who has not called is someone You will help me forgive.

Quiet me into thanksgiving.

Amen.
