New Mothers Prayer for April 29th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You are my hope, my sure hope, even in the day of trouble. Not just my hope on a good day. My hope when things are bad.
Today is not evil exactly. But it has been hard. A bad doctor's report on my own health. The fight with my partner that has not resolved. The baby refusing food at dinner.
On days like this, my hope wants to shrink down. I just try to get through the next hour.
But You are my hope. You are larger than this day. You are larger than the bad news.
I bring this day to You as it is. I do not have to fix it first. I bring it because hope is something I receive from You, not something I make on my own.
Amen.
