New Mothers Prayer for April 27th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Psalm 67 says, "God, even our own God, shall bless us." Our own God. Mine.

I have sometimes thought of You as the God of bigger Christians. The God of the saints. The God of the people who get up at five and read whole chapters.

But Psalm 67 calls You "our own God." Mine, even in the small life I am leading right now. Yours, even with my unfinished prayers.

I will not refer You to someone more deserving. I will accept that You are mine, in this house, on this quiet morning. The same God who blesses the great and small, blessing me here.

Let me rest in being Yours. Bless this house in the way You see best.

Amen.
