New Mothers Prayer for April 10th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Luke 23 tells us the cross happened at a real place called Calvary. A real hill. Not an idea. A place You chose.

You always meet me in real places, too. Not just the thought of grace. The quiet five minutes in this chair. Not just the idea of being with me. The light through the window right now.

Keep me from turning holy things into words that float away. The cross was made of wood and nails, and a real hill. Forgiveness was given at a real moment in time.

Today is a real day, in a real kitchen. Meet me here, where my feet are. Not in some better future kitchen. Here.

I receive Your grace in the place I am standing. That is enough.

Amen.

How to pray it

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
