New Mothers Prayer for April 7th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I have been turning the glory of this season into shame.
The body that carried and birthed her, I keep apologizing for. The slower pace of these months, I keep ranking as falling behind. The quiet love between us, I keep failing to notice because I am tracking other measures.
Turn me back from shame to glory. This is holy work. The slow pace is right for the season. The body that nourished a person deserves gentler thoughts than I have given it.
Let me see this season with Your eyes, not the mirror's. Thank You for trusting me with it.
Amen.
