New Mothers Prayer for April 6th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word says we should go to Christ outside the camp. The camp was where everyone gathered. Going outside meant being where the impressive people were not.

I am outside the camp this season. The career conversation. The Sunday small group that meets when my baby naps. I have stepped away from many of those by necessity.

Christ is outside the camp, too. He always was. The lonely parts of motherhood are not far from where He stays.

Do not let me try to climb back into a camp that was never the real point. Meet me out here, where it is quieter and smaller. The most important place is wherever You are.

Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
