New Mothers Prayer for April 5th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, there was a man named Simon who did not ask to carry a cross. They just put it on his shoulders and he walked behind Jesus.
Sometimes that is how this season feels. I did not choose to be this tired. I chose the baby. I did not choose the weeks of no sleep, the body that feels strange, the emotions that rise and fall like waves.
But I am carrying this after Jesus, not away from Him. He went first. The road I am walking, He already walked. The weight I carry, small as it is, He carried first and so much more heavily.
And the baby in my arms is worth every hard step.
Let me notice His footprints in front of mine today. I am not the first to walk a tired road. He is leading me down a path He already knows.
Amen.
