New Mothers Prayer for April 4th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word says Jesus took what I deserved so I could have what He earned. I did not set up this trade. I could not.

My side is full of weakness. Today's irritation. Yesterday's distraction. Last week's silence with my partner—the hidden envy at someone else's life.

His side is a right standing with You I could not earn in a thousand sleepless years.

I do not understand how this trade is fair to Him. It is not. It is grace. It is what He chose.

Let me stop trying to earn back my place with You. He took mine. I have His. I rest in that this morning.

Amen.
