New Mothers Prayer for March 31st

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Isaiah 53 says that by Your wounds we are healed. The wounds were Yours. The healing is Your gift to me.

I am not asking You for a big show of healing today. I am asking You to remind me that the deepest healing is already done. You have made me right with You. I do not owe a debt I cannot pay. I am clean before You.

The smaller healings will come in their time. My body is still finding its way back. Sleep still comes in pieces. My friendships feel stretched. I do not yet know what going back to work will look like.

But the deepest healing is settled. By Your wounds. Not by my mothering. Not by how well I pray.

So let me move through this morning holding both joy and weariness. Let me rest in a healing already done. Receive my quiet thanks.

Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
