New Mothers Prayer for March 23rd
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You know how stress lives in my body. Tension in my shoulders. The ache in my back. The headache by evening. The clenched jaw I do not notice until midnight.
Jesus carried great pain in His body, too. I am not Christ. My suffering is not like His. But the same Spirit who was with Him is with me here.
Loosen what is held in my body. Let me breathe out the tension. Let me lay this stretch of evening into Your hands the way He laid His.
Not my will. Not even my anxiety. Yours.
Amen.
