New Mothers Prayer for March 22nd
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Jesus went off alone and fell on His face to pray before the hardest thing He would ever do.
Tonight I do not even know what to ask for clearly. I just know I am tired, and the next stretch looks hard. The doctor's appointment. The conversation I have been putting off. The decision about going back to work.
Before I act, let me pray. I do not have to have impressive words. I just have to come the way Jesus came, with my face down, before doing the next thing.
If He needed to do this, so do I. I lay myself low for a minute before I move. Quiet me here.
Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
