New Mothers Prayer for March 21st
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, in the Bible, Jesus said His friends would all go home and leave Him alone. He knew it was coming.
I have not always understood Your lonely night in the garden. Tonight I think I do, a little. My friends have not left me on purpose. They just have their own lives. The lights in their houses go on without me. I feel the quiet spread out around me.
Christ, You know what it is to be left behind by people who meant well.
Sit with me in this quiet. I am not alone in being alone. You have been here.
When morning comes, I will text someone. Until then, this rocking chair is shared between us.
Amen.
