New Mothers Prayer for March 15th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word tells me to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Not strong in myself. Strong in what You give.

I keep mixing that up. When I hold it together, I feel like I am doing okay. When I fall apart in the long afternoon, I feel like I have failed.

But Your strength is not like mine. It does not break when I do. It does not depend on a clean house, a quiet house, or even a showered mom.

There is joy here, too, even in the tired. There is a small hand wrapped around my finger and a quiet gift in this hard day.

So let me lean on Your strength instead of pretending mine is enough. Let me get through this afternoon held by You.

Even one more tired hour, on Your steadiness, is enough.

Amen.
