New Mothers Prayer for March 14th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word warns me to be careful when I feel like I have it all together. I have had a few good days in a row, and I noticed myself getting a little proud of how I handled them.
That pride is a small crack in the floor. It is not the end of anything yet. But it is where I tend to trip.
Keep me low. Not self-loathing low. Just honest low. Aware that the good week did not come from my own steadiness. It came from grace I will need again tomorrow.
When the next hard day arrives, do not let it surprise me. I am the same woman in both. The God who carried me through last week will carry me through next.
Hold me steady, low and trusting.
Amen.
